Gas car explosion in Abyan

Three people were injured on Wednesday in two separate explosions of gas-powered cars in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen, amid an increase in accidents involving cars converted to run on gas.

Local sources told "Yemeni Youth Net" that a gas cylinder exploded in a saloon car, in a car repair shop, in Rasd Market, Rasd Yafa District, Abyan Governorate.

The sources added that the explosion resulted in the injury of three people, two of whom sustained minor injuries: "Shaddad Saeed Othman and Shafiq Al-Jaouni", and the third who sustained serious injuries: the tire shop owner, "Fahmi Ahmed Haidara".

The sources indicated that the injured were transferred to Rasd General Hospital for treatment.

In another incident today, a gas-powered car exploded in the middle of a crowded popular market in Mudiyah District, Abyan Governorate, resulting in the car burning completely without any human casualties, according to other local sources.

Recently, accidents involving cars that were converted to run on gas instead of petroleum have increased due to its high price.
