Three people were injured on Wednesday in two separate explosions of gas-powered cars in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen, amid an increase in accidents involving cars converted to run on gas.

Local sources said that the gas pipeline network and its equipment in Ras Issa port, north of Hodeidah, have been out of service for days, disrupting the unloading of ships.

Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak received today, Thursday, the report of the investigation committee into the fire and explosion of the Taj gas pump for filling cars with gas in Mansoura District in the interim capital, Aden, which resulted in human and material losses.

Media sources said that at least 11 people were killed or injured on Friday evening, after a gas tanker exploded at a station north of the interim capital, Aden.

The terrorist Houthi militia has stopped the process of filling and transporting gas from the ports of Hodeidah (western Yemen) to other governorates under its control, as a prelude to creating a supply crisis in the market and raising its prices.

Drivers of gas tankers from Marib continue to strike for the third consecutive day, in protest against the exorbitant taxes imposed by a number of security checkpoints in the governorates of Abyan, Shabwa and Taiz.
