Hadramout.. Technical glitch cuts off electricity service to Mukalla city and its suburbs

Hadramout power station went out of service on Monday evening due to a malfunction that led to a blackout in the city of Mukalla, the capital of the governorate, and its suburbs.

According to media sources, electricity service was suddenly cut off in the city of Mukalla and its suburbs due to a technical fault, which plunged the city into total darkness.

The Electricity Corporation attributed the power outage to a sudden failure in the 33 kV power transmission line that connects its control rooms to the Al-Munawara Electricity Department.

She pointed out that the malfunction caused a general power outage in the city of Mukalla and its suburbs and the power stations went out of service.

She said, "Electricity is currently being gradually restored to citizens after the power stations were put back into service. The fault location has been identified and isolated so that the institution's workers can begin repairing the fault."
