On Tuesday, the Yemeni Gas Company denied the veracity of what was circulated on social media regarding the interruption of the supply of domestic gas by the company to Hadhramaut Governorate, in the east of the country.
The government-run Saba news agency quoted the executive general manager of the Yemeni Gas Company, Engineer Mohsen Wahit, as saying that the source of these rumors comes from parties and individuals who lost their interests as a result of the recent measures taken by the company in cooperation with local authorities to close all violating stations.
He called on citizens not to be carried away by false rumours circulating on social media, stressing the importance of verifying accuracy and credibility and obtaining information from official sources.
He reiterated the Gas Company's commitment to play its role in supplying all governorates, without exception, with domestic gas.
At the end of last month, the Prime Minister directed the head of the Central Organization for Control and Accounting to assign a team of specialists from the organization to visit the Yemen Gas Company to review all licenses issued for the establishment of gas stations, from 2016 to date.
The Prime Minister's decision came after a gas tanker exploded in Aden, killing and wounding a number of people.
