Real Madrid turns the tables on Espanyol

Real Madrid turned a one-goal deficit against visiting Espanyol into a big win (4-1) today, Saturday, in the sixth round of the Spanish Football League.

Belgian Thibaut Courtois gave Espanyol the lead by mistake in his own goal in the (54) minute.

Dani Carvajal scored the equaliser for the royal team in the (58) minute.

Brazilian Rodrigo scored the second goal for the Spanish capital team in the (75) minute.

The other Brazilian, Vinicius Junior, gave the home team a reassuring goal in the (78) minute.

Frenchman Kylian Mbappe scored the fourth goal from the penalty spot (90).

With this result, Real Madrid raised its score to 14 points in second place temporarily, one point behind Barcelona, the leader, who faces host Villarreal on Sunday in the same stage.

As for Espanyol, its score froze at 7 points.

In the same stage, Valencia defeated Girona (2-0), Osasuna defeated Las Palmas (2-1), while the match between Valladolid and Real Sociedad ended in a goalless draw.
