Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad 2-0 and Villarreal continue their winning streak

Real Madrid snatched an important victory from host Real Sociedad, beating them 2-0 on Saturday evening in the fifth round of the Spanish Football League.

Brazilian Vinicius Junior gave Real Madrid the lead in the 58th minute from a penalty kick, and Frenchman Kylian Mbappe added the second goal from a penalty kick in the 75th minute of the match.

Real Madrid temporarily moved up to second place with 11 points, behind leaders Barcelona (12 points), who will visit Girona tomorrow, Sunday.

Villarreal continue their good start

In another match, Villarreal continued its good start to the season with a third win in the dying moments against host Real Mallorca, 2-1.

The Yellow Submarine team, which finished eighth last season under coach Marcelino Toral, seemed on its way to settling for a second consecutive draw and the third of the season when it entered stoppage time tied with a first goal in its colours from new arrival Logan Costa from Cape Verde with a header (27) versus a goal by 39-year-old Raul Albiol in his own goal (57).

Javi Boado became the first player to score a hat-trick for Espanyol in the Spanish League since Sergio Garcia in 2013, leading them to their second win of the season at the expense of their guest Alaves 3-2, raising the Catalan team's score to 7 points compared to 2 points for their guest.
