The Yemeni youth team began its journey in the Group 9 qualifiers for the AFC U-17 Championship with a big victory over its Myanmar counterpart (6-1) today, Wednesday, in the match that took place between them at Viet Three Stadium in Vietnam.

The Yemeni national team started the match strongly from the first minute, as defender Mohammed Wahib Al-Jarash scored the early goal in the fifth minute, then Issam Al-Saqqaf added the second goal in the 12th minute, ending the first half with a two-goal lead.

With the Yemeni players completely controlling the game, the first half witnessed the expulsion of the Myanmar national team defender in the 41st minute, which gave Yemen a numerical advantage.

In the second half, the Yemeni team continued to impose its control, and Ahmed Abdullah Muhim scored the third goal in the 47th minute after an organized attack, then Mohammed Wahib Al-Jarash returned to confirm his superiority by scoring the fourth goal in the 59th minute.

In the 63rd minute, Karim Hamdy added the fifth after continuous pressure from the attack, and although Myanmar reduced the difference by scoring their only goal in the 70th minute from a counterattack by substitute Thura Min Nhat, Ahmed Abdullah Muhim ended any hopes of a comeback when he scored the sixth goal in the 76th minute.

With the great victory of the Yemeni team, it leads the group, especially after the draw between the host Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan. The next match for Yemen will be against Kyrgyzstan next Friday, as the team seeks to achieve another victory to ensure qualification to the final stages.
