A citizen was killed today, Wednesday, by gunmen over an old tribal vendetta in the city of Lawdar in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.

A local source told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the citizen "Mohammed Ahmed Saleh Al-Qamishi", in his forties, was killed by bullets from one of his relatives, near the Aden bus station in the center of the city of Lawdar in Abyan Governorate.

The source added that Al-Qamishi, who hails from Shabwa Governorate, was killed by his cousin in an old blood feud.

The sources indicated that the gunman shot the victim directly, killing him instantly, before fleeing.

Recently, Shabwa Governorate has witnessed a remarkable escalation in tribal conflicts and revenge incidents in light of the absence of security and judicial authorities in the governorate under the control of the Southern Transitional Council.
