Marib.. 51 shelters for African refugees burned in Bin Maili camp

The Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons' Camps in Ma'rib Governorate announced the burning of 51 shelters for African refugees in one of the governorate's camps.

She said in a statement on her Facebook account, yesterday, Wednesday, that 51 shelters for African refugees in the Bin Mu’ili camp in the third sector in Al-Wadi District in Ma’rib Governorate burned, and there was no human damage.

The government unit called on international organizations to quickly provide relief to the afflicted refugees with shelter, shelter, and food.

The governorate's Department of Displaced Persons attached a recent statistic of fires that occurred in camps for displaced people and refugees during the first half of this year, which amounted to about 135 incidents that caused the death of two people and the injury of 25 others.

She explained that the fires destroyed 135 shelters. Including 84 for displaced families and 51 for African refugee families, including 301 tents, 230 nets, 5 caravans and houses.

Statistics showed that most fire incidents were caused by flames spreading into tents. With a number of 53 incidents, followed by random electricity connection with 28 incidents; While 19 fires broke out as a result of the tents being used as kitchens, and one fire was caused by a domestic gas cylinder explosion.
