A comprehensive strike by Hadhramout University students in protest against the failure to respond to their demands

Today, Tuesday, students at Hadhramaut University (eastern Yemen) began a comprehensive strike in all colleges, in protest against the failure of the local authorities and the university presidency to respond to their demands.

Local sources confirmed that Hadhramaut University witnessed a comprehensive strike on Tuesday in all colleges, in protest against the increase in transportation fees and demanding the cancellation of the recent increase in tuition fees.

Yesterday, Monday, students of Hadhramout University colleges announced the start of a comprehensive strike to demand the provision of subsidized diesel for university students, the cancellation of the recent increase in tuition fees, and the improvement of student services at the university, including periodic maintenance of buildings and the provision of food and necessary security protection for the residences.

Last Sunday, students held protests in front of the local authority buildings in the districts of Ash Shihr, Al Ghayl, and Al Hami, east of Hadhramaut, denouncing the rise in diesel and petroleum derivatives prices, which affected transportation fares.
