Barcelona succeed in registering Dani Olmo and announce the loan of Lenglet to Atletico Madrid
Sports| 26 August, 2024 - 7:39 PM
Barcelona have successfully registered Spanish international Dani Olmo from German side Leipzig in the Spanish league, while announcing the loan of Lenglet to Atletico Madrid.
The Catalan club faced difficulty in registering its new player, despite the departure of several players from the club during the current transfer window, such as Ilkay Gundogan, Vitor Roque and Clement Lenglet, due to Financial Fair Play regulations.
Olmo will be present in his team Barcelona's match against Rayo Vallecano this Tuesday.
Olmo joined Barcelona on a six-season contract for sixty-five million euros.
Lenglet from Barcelona to Atletico Madrid
Barcelona have announced an agreement to loan French defender Clement Lenglet to Atletico Madrid until June 30, 2025, without an option to buy.
Lenglet (29 years old) has participated in 160 matches with Barcelona since joining the Catalan club in 2018 from Sevilla.
Lenglet scored 7 goals with Barcelona and made 3 assists. As for the titles, he won the Spanish League title 2018-2019, the King's Cup 2020-2021 and the Spanish Super Cup 2018-2019 with the club.
Barcelona also loaned their young Brazilian striker Vitor Roque, who has not established himself after six months in Catalonia, to Real Betis.
The former Atletico Paranaense striker joined Barcelona in January for $33.5 million after the club signed the deal in July 2023.
Rocky (19 years old) scored two goals in 16 matches for the Blaugrana jersey last season, which was won by its traditional rival Real Madrid.
"FC Barcelona and Real Betis have reached an agreement for the loan of Vitor Roque until June 30, 2025, with the option of another year," Barcelona said in a statement.
The Catalan giants confirmed that Betis also have the option to buy Rocky.
Griezmann's goal yesterday against Girona was Atletico Madrid's first from a direct free kick, since Luis Suarez's goal in January 2021 against Cadiz in the league.
Since the 2015-16 season, Atlético have scored 10 goals from direct free kicks in all competitions, 9 of them by Griezmann.
