The Yemeni Islah Party, on Wednesday, criticized the position of the government negotiating delegation regarding the absurd possibilities presented by the Houthi militias regarding the kidnapped politician, "Mohammed Qahtan."

This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Islah Party’s Media Department, Adnan Al-Adini, in his first comment on the Houthi militia’s statements about reaching an agreement regarding Qahtan, during the ongoing negotiations in the Omani capital, Muscat.

Al-Audaini said on the “X” platform, “The lightness and immorality with which the Houthi militia speaks regarding (the release) of Qahtan does not indicate seriousness, as much as it expresses an extended desire for manipulation and verbal consumption.”

He added: "Also, being led by the absurd possibilities proposed by the militia and repeating them raises questions about the path of negotiation."

Earlier today, the spokesman for the government negotiating team, Majid Fadail, said that it was agreed in the ongoing negotiations in Muscat to release the kidnapped politician Muhammad Qahtan in exchange for 50 Houthi prisoners.

On the other hand, the “Saba” agency, the Houthi version, quoted the head of the militia’s negotiating delegation, Abdul Qadir Al-Murtada, as saying that the agreement included the release of Muhammad Qahtan in exchange for the release of 50 militia prisoners, and if he was dead, his body would be handed over in exchange for the government side handing over 50 bodies of the militia’s dead. .
