This morning, Saturday, the Yemeni Islah Party in Taiz Governorate held an artistic and rhetorical festival to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the party’s founding, in the presence of a number of local authority leaders, political parties, and a large crowd of citizens.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the head of the executive office of the Islah Party in Taiz, Abdul-Hafiz Al-Faqih, welcomed all attendees, stressing that the Islah Party’s celebration of this occasion comes to strengthen the popular incubator and mobilize energies and political and national work in the governorate.
Al-Faqih said, "The steadfastness of the Yemeni people for ten years in the face of the Houthi militia and its apparent and hidden allies requires all political forces to refuse to accept any partial solutions or surrender negotiations."
He called on all political and social forces to unite their forces, mobilize all their capabilities, rise above differences, and close ranks to defend the revolution and the republic and restore state institutions.
He considered that "it is the right of the national army, security and popular resistance that we stand in reverence and respect for the sacrifices they have made and are making on various fronts and sites, and to magnify the sacrifices of the martyrs and the wounded and to pay attention to this file."
He added that "the circumstances require us to work together, with a sincere collective spirit, and as one team under the leadership of an independent leadership council for the scientific leadership and his fellow council members, praising the recently approved head of the leadership council for Taiz, saying that she "represented a national Toma par excellence."
In turn, the Governor of Taiz Governorate, Nabil Shamsan, said that the Islah Party was a national partisan and political tributary in the important management phase of our Yemeni people that came after achieving the blessed Yemeni unity in the year 90 AD, as great results of the struggle of all the working forces present in the Yemeni arena.
Shamsan stressed that no one can deny the role of the Islah Party and its strong presence in the field of defending the republic, establishing democracy, and consolidating the goals of the revolution, and in the battle of liberation and resisting the coup alongside all national forces.
He added, "The truth that the Yemeni people agree upon is that Taiz has been distinguished as a maker of revolutions, democracy and freedom, which is evident in the parties' practice of their political and societal activities despite the circumstances of war and siege. This activity is nothing but a true confirmation of the uniqueness of the governorate as a local authority and political forces on national issues that are taken through a positive relationship between society, parties and local authority."
Shamsan said that the Islah party’s celebration of its founding anniversary coincides with the 62nd anniversary of the immortal September Revolution, which drew the curtain on a dark era that had loomed over our beloved country for a long time, and announced the birth of our immortal republic, which took upon itself the task of achieving the values of freedom, justice, and equal citizenship, which the governorate celebrates continuously from the beginning of September until November 30, so that the days of September, October, and November are our national holidays, in which we affirm our adherence to our republican identity and the goals of the September and October revolutions, and our rejection of the dynastic priesthood and exposing its crimes.
He called on the Taiz governorate to learn from the leaders of September, October and November, their example and lesson in confronting injustice and triumphing over it, which will, God willing, achieve our goals of eliminating the rebellious Houthi militias supported by Iran because it is an unviable project in Yemen, and it only lives on force and violence, and its survival until today is based on the fragmentation of the Republican camp and the interest in small battles at the expense of the battle of national liberation, and from here national unity and closing ranks becomes a national duty.
He concluded by saying, "I reiterate my congratulations to the Yemeni Congregation for Reform on the anniversary of its founding. We are absolutely confident that its leaders and members will continue to work to ensure that the role of the Reform Party remains a bright, honorable page and a source of pride as part of the history of modern Yemen. We stress the importance of the Reform Party, along with all the republican forces, being a symbol of steadfastness and sacrifices and always at the forefront."
In the speech of the political parties delivered by Mohammed Hamed, he stressed the necessity and importance of true national partnership in managing the country, in which all the competencies of the sons of Yemen participate, far from selfishness, monopolization, marginalization and exclusion, with the necessity of evaluating performance and achieving the principle of transparency and accountability in accordance with the principles of good governance and working to create a model in the liberated governorates, sensing the extent of the responsibility placed on us all towards the Yemeni people who are going through the most difficult phase since the coup against legitimacy and the militia’s control over state institutions by force of arms.
Hamed said that the people's suffering is increasing day after day on all levels and in all parts of Yemen, especially in the city of Taiz, which is still suffering from a brutal siege and the blocking of its main roads to and from other governorates, which has forced travelers to take alternative routes that may be the cause of their death, as happened to travelers last Monday when their bus overturned on the Karba al-Sahi road, killing 16 people. May God have mercy on them, reward their families greatly, console them, and heal the wounded.
He said that the heroes of the National Army who are now stationed on all fronts across the Yemeni land are carrying their lives in the palms of their hands in order to defend the revolution and the republic and are defending honor and land, so they deserve our praise, respect and standing in reverence for their heroic and patriotic positions.
Hamed called on the concerned authorities to provide their basic requirements and legitimate rights, including salaries, food, treatment, medical supplies, and other necessary and essential needs, whether they are stationed on the front lines or wounded whose wounds have prevented them from continuing their heroic journey.
He stressed on everyone to unite ranks, gather their voices and rally around the Presidential Council led by Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi to confront the Houthi militia coup and strive to achieve one goal, which is to liberate the country by all possible means, away from partisan bickering, media squabbling and accusations of treason against some. We must forget the past with its differences and reject everything that would weaken the ranks and disperse efforts.
For her part, lawyer Shaima Al-Sarari delivered the women’s speech, and said that the Islah Party is positioned at the heart of the Yemeni pluralistic political equation, as its most important pillar, and for 34 years since its founding on September 13, 1990.
She added that those moments were the beginning of the path of political and cultural pluralism in Yemen after the unification and until the coup of September 21, 2014, which prompted the Islah Party and all the honorable and free people of Yemen to confront this terrorist Houthi coup gang.
Al-Sarari said that your celebration today of the founding anniversary is a celebration of a free homeland and a project for a strong and secure civilized state, and this requires you to rise to the level of responsibility and the stage, so be up to the level and stage in word and deed.
She added, "We in Islah highly appreciate the visit of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, to Taiz Governorate and his announcement of a number of service projects, hoping that they will see the light soon to alleviate the suffering of this steadfast governorate."
I saluted the brave heroes of the National Army and Security Forces on all fronts and sites, wherever duty calls them, and all the people of this governorate for their steadfastness, endurance, support and backing of the men of the Army, Security Forces and the Popular Resistance.
