Local sources reported that a number of streets in the city of Ibb, which is under the control of the Houthis (central Yemen), are overflowing with sewage, coinciding with the widespread spread of cholera.

The sources told "Yemen Shabab Net" that a number of streets and neighborhoods in the city (the governorate center), including neighborhoods close to the headquarters of the local authority, have been overflowing with sewage water for several weeks amid the negligence of the militia authorities, who did not do anything despite the appeals of the people.

The sources explained that the sewage water mixed with rainwater, which exacerbated the disaster of the cholera epidemic sweeping the governorate, causing hundreds of infections and dozens of deaths.

The sources indicated that the militia is trying to promote in its media about launching campaigns to spread cholera in the governorate, but it has not paid attention to citizens’ appeals to solve the “sanitation” problem, which is a major cause of cholera.
