Ibb: Yemen Youth Net - Special
A powerful Houthi leader in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen) has directed the Public Prosecution to summon three female teachers in the Al-Manahil Civil Directorate, after accusing them of disturbing the social peace and cooperating with what they call “aggression,” in a preliminary step to their arrest.
Informed sources said that the Houthi leader who is impersonating the Deputy Governor of Ibb for Development Affairs, Yahya Al-Qasimi, has accused the teachers Hanan Ali Naji Al-Jamal, her sister Samia, and their cousin Jihad of disturbing the social peace and cooperating in what they call “aggression.”
The sources added that the Houthi leader accuses the teachers of leaking a video of him storming the school and terrorizing the students while they were taking exams.
According to the sources, Al-Qasimi threatened the teachers with kidnapping by the Houthi women's groups "Zainabiyat" and directed the Public Prosecution to summon them today, Monday, in an attempt to intimidate them and pressure them to stop demanding the handover of their school, which he has been in control of for several years.
According to the sources, the malicious accusations by the Houthi leader came after the three teachers submitted a request to the Education Office to remove the Al-Qasimi leader from the private school, which is partially owned by one of their family members.
She added that the Education Office in the Directorate had decided to appoint a female principal for the school and to remove Al-Qasimi from its management and funds, as indicated by a document that Yemen Youth Net obtained a copy of.
Sources indicate that the Houthi leader is working to fuel disputes between the school’s partners in order to maintain control over its revenues, which he has seized since 2020, despite a recent ruling by arbitrators to hand it over to the owners.
