Initial reports indicated that the Houthi militia assassinated the General People's Congress leader, Amin Rajih, inside a prison in Sana'a today, Saturday, days after his kidnapping.
Conference sources reported that Sheikh Amin Rajih was assassinated in the central prison in Sana'a, where he was taken by the militia after being kidnapped with a number of his guests from his home in Sana'a.
There were conflicting reports about the method of Sheikh Amin Rajih's assassination, with some reporting that he was stabbed to death inside the central prison with a sharp instrument.
The Houthi militia kidnapped the conference leader Sheikh Amin Rajih from his home because he chanted “Long live the Yemeni Republic” in response to the Houthis’ chants for their cry.
During the past few days, the Houthi militia kidnapped dozens of citizens, including prominent conference leaders, due to their celebrations of the glorious September 26 anniversary.
