Yemen Youth Net - Special
The terrorist Houthi militia launched a wide kidnapping campaign in several governorates under its control, against the backdrop of calls to revive the glorious September 26 Revolution.
Yemeni Youth Net sources said that the terrorist Houthi militia continued its kidnapping campaigns in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen), in connection with invitations to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the glorious September 26 Revolution.
The sources explained that these kidnappings included about 16 people, including educators in the As-Saddah Directorate, bringing the total number of kidnapped people in the directorate since the beginning of the month to 31 civilians.
In the city of Ibb, the Houthi militia kidnapped yesterday, Friday, (Professor Khaled Al-Juhi) from Al-Mashnah District, the educator (Abdul Aziz Al-Fadhli, and the lawyer Akram Al-Tahiri) from the Jarfah neighborhood in Al-Dhahar District.
In addition, local sources revealed that the militia kidnapped seven people from Al Bayda Governorate, while it kidnapped an academic in Dhamar, and a citizen in areas under its control in Taiz, under the same pretext.
Legal condemnation
The American Center for Justice ( ACJ ) expressed its condemnation and concern over the kidnapping campaigns carried out by the Houthi group against writers, journalists and activists in areas under its control for several days, against the backdrop of their publication of publications about the September Revolution that Yemenis celebrate every year, and stressed that these practices are illegal and constitute a flagrant violation of the basic rights guaranteed in the Yemeni constitution and international law.
He pointed out that these arrests come within the context of increasing restrictions on freedom of expression and the press in areas under Houthi control, calling on the Houthi group to immediately stop these illegal practices and release all political detainees immediately.
The Center also called for respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and stressed that the continuation of these violations requires holding their perpetrators accountable before criminal judicial authorities.
For its part, the Monitoring Organization for Rights and Freedoms condemned the kidnapping campaign carried out by the Houthi militia against the backdrop of calls (to revive the September 26 Revolution), and called on the Houthis to quickly release those they kidnapped and hold them responsible for their safety.
The organization called on all international and local organizations to take responsibility for the ongoing crimes of the Houthis against civilians and to demand that the major violators of human rights in Yemen be held accountable and not to escape punishment.
The Monitoring Organization called on the envoy to Yemen and the international organizations to pressure the Houthi militia to stop its crimes against civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law and international covenants and treaties.
