President Al-Alimi arrives in New York to participate in the UN General Assembly meetings

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, along with the Council members, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and Othman Majali, arrived in New York City to participate in the work of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Al-Alimi will deliver the speech of the Republic of Yemen before the leaders and representatives of the member states of the United Nations General Assembly on the developments of the local situation and the international support required for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to end the suffering of the Yemeni people and achieve comprehensive peace in accordance with its national, regional and international references.

She added that the President will address the world leaders participating in the Future Summit, in conjunction with the high-level international event, with a speech in which he will review the path of economic and institutional reforms, ways to respond to the intertwined challenges, and Yemen’s fulfillment of its coordinated commitments with regional allies and international partners to achieve the sustainable development goals by 2030.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and the members of the Council are also scheduled to hold high-level discussions on the humanitarian and economic conditions in the country on the sidelines of the UN meetings, in light of the catastrophic repercussions of the Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international shipping lines with the support of the Iranian regime.

The President and the Council members will also discuss, in separate meetings with a number of heads of participating delegations, bilateral relations and issues of common interest at all levels.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and the two members of the Council are accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Shaye Mohsen Al-Zindani.
