Yemen.. Referral of officials in Aden refineries to the Public Funds Court on charges of harming public funds

The Public Prosecution referred two officials from Aden Refinery to the Public Prosecution on charges of harming the company and facilitating the seizure of public funds.
A responsible source in the Public Prosecution said in a statement, "Case No. 54 of 2024 C-C, concerning the accused (M.A.A.) and the accused (H.Y.S.), has been referred to the Primary Public Funds Court in Aden Governorate on charges of harming the interests of the Aden Refinery Company.
The source added in a statement published by the Public Prosecution Office that the charges against the officials also included "facilitating the seizure of public funds for the benefit of a Chinese company to establish a new power station for the refinery without the actual need for it and obstructing the workflow in accordance with Republican Decree No. (13) of 1994 regarding crimes and penalties."
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak revealed, while receiving reports on the results of the review of the Central Organization for Control and Accounting of the work of a number of government institutions and interests, that a number of cases had been referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation, the latest of which was the case of the Aden Refinery Company, which was referred to the Public Prosecution on October 13, 2024, and directing the continuation of procedures to activate the tools of control, review and accountability, to ensure integrity and accountability in all state institutions.
