Aden: Yemen Youth Net
Today, Sunday, displaced employees held a protest in front of the Maashiq Presidential Palace in the interim capital, Aden, to demand the urgent and continuous payment of their salaries, and to denounce the abuses to which they are subjected.
During the protest, which was held under the slogan "Paying salaries is a duty", the protesters sent a message to the Presidential Leadership Council, the Council of Ministers, the House of Representatives and the Shura Council, which included an explanation of the issue of displaced employees and the abuses they are subjected to by the Ministries of Civil Service and Finance in Aden.
The letter demanded that the salaries of all displaced employees be paid unconditionally, and that those who were unable to work in their workplaces in the governorates to which they were displaced be empowered and that their rights be paid in terms of living increases, annual bonuses, job settlements, transportation allowances, housing allowances, and a monthly incentive to meet the requirements of difficult life.
It also demanded the disbursement of 30% of the cost of living allowance that was disbursed to all state employees, with the exception of displaced employees and those in liberated areas since 2018, as well as the demand to disburse annual allowances to displaced employees and those in liberated areas, similar to the rest of the employees in the legitimate government areas.
Message text:
Dear brothers, the President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council
Dear brothers, the Prime Minister and members of the Council of Ministers
Dear brothers, Speaker and members of the House of Representatives
Dear brothers, Chairman and members of the Shura Council
A militant greeting:
Subject: Disbursing salaries of employees displaced to legitimate areas urgently and continuously.
3_ Paying annual allowances to displaced employees and liberated areas, similar to the rest of the employees in the legitimate government areas.
4_ Paying housing and transportation allowances to displaced employees in accordance with civil service laws, as their institutions were transferred from the capital, Sana’a, to the interim capital, Aden, by a sovereign decision, and some were displaced from the governorates under the control of the Houthi coup militias, fleeing their brutality.
5_ Providing a living allowance to employees or raising their salaries to confront the high cost of living and the terrible deterioration of the national currency.
6_ Forming a government committee to accommodate the rest of the displaced employees whose salaries have not been paid yet, despite their presence in the legitimate areas and their knowledge of them, and working hard to pay them quickly.
May God bless you all and guide your steps on the path of goodness.
Protest stand for employees displaced to areas of the legitimate government.
The temporary capital, Aden.
