Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak referred, on Thursday, new violations in corruption cases and crimes affecting public funds to the Attorney General for investigation and taking the necessary action.
The Yemeni News Agency "Saba" reported, quoting a responsible source in the Prime Minister's Office, that Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak sent a letter to the Attorney General, including the violations committed by the Executive Director of the Oil Investment Company, and his failure to adhere to preserving public property and acting individually in discussions related to the transfer and operation of one of the oil sectors.
The source explained that the letter included a complete file of the violations he committed, and based on that, he was referred for investigation, renewing the Prime Minister's absolute commitment to preserving public funds and combating all types of corruption, considering this a top priority.
He pointed out that the judiciary is the judge and arbiter in these cases, so that no one should think that he is immune from accountability or that he is above the law.
Ben Mubarak said in a post on his account on the “X” platform, “Today, I referred a new file in corruption cases to the Attorney General, as part of ongoing procedures based on the government’s absolute commitment to the approach of combating corruption and promoting transparency and accountability as a position and not just a slogan.
The Prime Minister added, "We are moving forward, along with the judicial and supervisory bodies, in this direction without hesitation, and we affirm that there is no protection for anyone, regardless of their job position, who is proven to be involved in looting public funds or financial and administrative corruption from the hands of justice."
