Foreign Minister Shaye Al-Zindani arrives in the Russian capital, Moscow, on an official visit

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaye Al-Zindani, arrived in the Russian capital, Moscow, in response to an official invitation from his counterpart, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website that Minister Al-Zindani will hold talks with Russian officials during his visit regarding bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries and issues of common interest.

She added that the Foreign Minister will hold meetings with some Russian official institutions and bodies, and will also meet with the Yemeni community and Arab ambassadors in Moscow.

Before his trip to Moscow, Minister Al-Zindani met in Riyadh with the Russian Chargé d'Affaires to Yemen, Dr. Yevgeny Kudrov. According to a statement by the Russian Embassy, the meeting focused on discussing relations between the two friendly countries and prospects for developing them.

For his part, the Russian Chargé d'Affaires stressed the importance of preventing the growth of economic escalation and continuing efforts aimed at finding a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.

Recently, Moscow has intensified its interest in the Yemeni file and held numerous meetings with government officials and components and with leaders of the Houthi militia, in the context of its support for the efforts of the UN envoy aimed at reaching a political solution to the Yemeni issue.
