UN report: 1,631 African migrants arrived in Yemen last August

A UN report revealed, on Monday, that 1,631 African migrants arrived in Yemen during the month of August.
The International Organization for Migration said in its monthly report that its tracking matrix recorded the entry of 1,631 migrants into Yemen during last August, an increase of 21% compared to the previous month (1,345).
She explained that all arrivals were from Somalia and entered the country via the coast of Shabwa. Most of the migrants were men, at 60%, followed by women, at 24%, while children represented 16%.
According to UN statistics, the total number of African migrants to Yemen during the first eight months of this year rose to 13,371 migrants.
