Hadhramaut tribes set up an armed point on the international road in Brom Mayfa’a District

On Friday evening, members of the Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance set up an armed point on the international line west of the governorate, as part of the alliance’s escalating and field steps to control the land, to demand Hadhramaut’s rights.

Tribal sources said that the alliance established a concentration point in the Rajima area in the Brom Mayfa’a district, west of Hadhramaut Governorate, on Friday afternoon.

On September 20, the Tribal Alliance announced the establishment of a camp (Rujima - Maifaa), as part of its plan to spread out and seize land and wealth, and to pressure the local and central authorities to implement its demands.

The alliance had begun escalation early last August, setting up armed points in the oil fields area (Hadhramaut Plateau), in addition to other points east and west of the governorate.

The alliance demands that the Presidential Council and the government provide basic services to citizens, increase the governorate’s share of oil sales, and not bypass Hadhramaut as an independent party in the political settlement to resolve the crisis in Yemen.
