Hebrew newspaper: 6 soldiers who fought in Gaza and southern Lebanon commit suicide

The newspaper reported accounts describing the horrors experienced by Israeli soldiers in Gaza, and stated that those who survived death feared being called back to fight as the war expanded to Lebanon.

According to the Israeli Defense Ministry’s Reintegration Office, as reported by the Times of Israel, some 5,200 Israeli soldiers, or 43 percent of the wounded admitted to rehabilitation centers, suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, with “some 100,000 people, at least half of whom suffer from PTSD, expected to be treated by 2030.”

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 148,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.

Israel continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
