On Monday, the Ministry of Public Health and Population participated in the launch event of the Regional Network for Global Health in the Middle East and North Africa (TGHN MENA), which was organized by Oxford University in cooperation with the Canadian University in Dubai.
The network aims to enhance research capabilities, identify health research priorities in the Middle East and North Africa region, with a focus on addressing research gaps, and build strategic partnerships to support health systems in countries with limited resources.
It also aims to develop health policies based on research results and enhance regional cooperation between health and research institutions.
Representatives of the participating countries discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the network’s member states in the field of scientific research and the development of health policies that are compatible with the health challenges facing their countries.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry was represented at the launch event by the Director General of Health Information and Research at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Saeedi, via video conference, in the presence of representatives from the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Oman, and international experts from Oxford University and the World Health Organization.
