On the 396th day of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the occupation army continues to bomb hospitals and tents of the displaced in the center and south of the Strip, causing martyrs and wounded. Al Jazeera reported, according to medical sources, that 61 Palestinians were killed in Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip since dawn today, 46 of them in the north of the besieged Strip.

For its part, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced earlier on Tuesday that "the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 43,391 martyrs and 102,347 injuries since October 7, 2023."

The ministry explained that "the Israeli occupation committed 3 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, 17 martyrs and 86 injuries arrived at hospitals during the past 24 hours," noting that "a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them."

In turn, the Palestinian Civil Defense said on Tuesday that it had received numerous appeals about the presence of citizens alive under homes and residential buildings destroyed by the Israeli army during the past few days in the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip governorate, which has been subjected to genocide and ethnic cleansing for more than a month.

The Civil Defense added in a statement: "We are receiving appeals about the presence of citizens alive under the rubble of some homes and residential buildings that were destroyed by the Israeli occupation during the past few days in the Beit Lahia project area, north of the Gaza Strip."

He called on "international human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently to allow the arrival of crews and work to save the lives of those under the rubble," warning of the continued state of "international silence towards the Israeli aggression and arrogance that will lead to the execution of living citizens under the rubble of their destroyed homes," considering this "a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law."

He continued, saying: "Citizens in the northern Gaza Strip are being subjected to Israeli death and genocide in silence, while the occupation has completely disrupted the work of our crews, confiscated their vehicles and equipment, displaced them, and arrested some of them," noting that for the 14th consecutive day, the Israeli army has been preventing civil defense crews from carrying out their work in the northern governorate.

This comes within the framework of an operation that the Israeli army began on October 5, with an unprecedented bombardment of areas in the northern Gaza Strip, before invading it under the pretext of "preventing Hamas from regaining its strength," while the Palestinians say that Israel wants to occupy the area and displace them.

This attack, which coincided with a tight siege, also caused the health system to be out of service, and the ambulances of the Palestinian Red Crescent to stop working.

genocide

The UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, stressed that "what is happening in Gaza in terms of systematic starvation with the aim of destruction is not war," but rather should be called "genocide."

Albanese shared on her X account a UN report stating that last month Israel allowed only 30 aid trucks per day to enter the Gaza Strip.

She pointed out that there are several ways for Israel to destroy the Palestinians, stressing that "the most cruel and complex of them is creating unsustainable and inhumane living conditions."

"Don't call this a war. This is genocide. The intent to destroy is clear. The complicity of other countries is also clear," Albanese said.

14,000 Palestinians need to be evacuated

For his part, the World Health Organization representative in Palestine, Rick Peeperkorn, stated that their estimates indicate that there are between 12,000 and 14,000 patients with serious illnesses in the Gaza Strip who need medical evacuation.

During his participation via video conference in a press conference of the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday, Peeperkorn indicated that a medical evacuation of more than 100 patients in Gaza is scheduled, indicating that these patients are listed on the list of the Ministry of Health in Gaza and are "people with priority for evacuation."

He pointed out that the evacuation of patients will take place through the Kerem Shalom crossing, saying: "The majority of patients will go to the UAE, and about 13 patients will be evacuated to Romania, and this evacuation is scheduled to take place tomorrow."

He explained that they evacuated nearly 4,700 patients from the Rafah crossing before it was closed by Israel on May 6, stressing that only 282 patients were evacuated after the Rafah crossing was closed.

He stressed the need for an organized and sustainable medical evacuation process for patients in Gaza, adding: “Our estimates indicate that between 12,000 and 14,000 seriously ill patients need medical evacuation in Gaza.”

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving about 146,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.

Israel continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
