The Houthi militia has launched work at a new collection point at the northern entrance to the capital, Sana'a, as part of the collection campaigns targeting merchants in areas under its control.

A source working in the heavy transport sector said that the Houthi militia began work yesterday evening at the Al-Azraqeen scale, north of Sana'a.

Traders and heavy transport drivers expressed their discontent with the variety of taxes imposed on them by the militia under different names, indicating that this would add new burdens on them, the price of which would be paid by the ordinary citizen.

The new scale will be added to dozens of pivotal scales that the Houthi militia has established at the entrances to the governorates and along the roads in the areas it controls.

These scales constitute a heavy burden on traders, increase prices, and limit commercial movement and economic activity in areas controlled by the Houthis.
