The Yemeni government held the Houthi militia responsible for the life of a kidnapped educator who was tortured in its prisons in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen).
Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani said in a post on the X platform, "We hold the terrorist Houthi militia affiliated with Iran fully responsible for the life of the educator (Salah Abdo Al-Baoum) who is forcibly detained in its illegal detention centers, and who was transferred to a hospital in the city of Ibb, after suffering a health setback as a result of the psychological and physical torture he was subjected to since his kidnapping on September 4th for celebrating the September Revolution."
He added that the Houthi militia has been carrying out kidnapping campaigns since the beginning of September, targeting thousands of citizens, due to their celebration of the September Revolution and raising the national flag, and has rejected all calls to release them. It has stipulated that the kidnapped persons provide guarantees and pledges not to celebrate national occasions or raise national flags.
Minister Al-Eryani called on the international community, the United Nations, the UN envoy, and human rights organizations to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities, condemn the Houthi campaigns of brutal repression, abuse, and terrorism against citizens, pressure the militia to release all those forcibly detained in its illegal prisons, hold accountable those responsible for these crimes and violations, and begin to classify it as a "global terrorist organization."
Last Saturday, the educator "Al-Baoum" was transferred to a hospital in the city of Ibb, after his health deteriorated as a result of the torture and medical neglect he was subjected to for more than two months in the prisons of the Houthi militia, while a number of families of those kidnapped in connection with the September Revolution celebrations complained about the interruption of communication with their sons after the militia transferred them from its prisons in Ibb to unknown prisons in Sana'a.
