The Ministry of Interior announces receiving 16 applications for Yemeni citizenship

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior announced today, Thursday, that it received files of 16 applications to obtain Yemeni citizenship.
The Security Media Center reported that the Yemeni Nationality Committee held an extraordinary meeting in the interim capital, Aden, headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Civil Services Sector, Major General Abdul Majeed Barak Al-Amiri, and attended by all members of the committee.
He explained that the committee reviewed the approval of requests for Yemeni citizenship applicants, for a number of (16) requests that were submitted, in accordance with Law No. (6) of 1990 regarding Yemeni citizenship, and a number of topics included on the committee’s agenda.
The committee approved a number of recommendations regarding requests to obtain Yemeni citizenship, which will be submitted to His Excellency the Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haydan, to submit them to the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, to issue decisions regarding them.
Al-Amiri stressed the keenness of the Ministry's leadership on the necessity of receiving applications for Yemeni citizenship, in accordance with the law, pointing out the importance of the committee's commitment to holding its meetings periodically and regularly, to decide on the files of applicants for citizenship, in the service of citizens to obtain their identification documents.
He stressed the need to examine all documents and prepare their files before the committee's sessions to approve Yemeni citizenship, to facilitate procedures and transactions.
It is noteworthy that the Yemeni Nationality Committee resumed its sessions today, Thursday, September 5, 2024 AD, since the last meeting of the committee in 2023 AD, according to the security media.
