A sixty-year-old citizen died under torture in the prisons of the terrorist Houthi militia in Al Bayda Governorate (central Yemen).
The Monitoring Center for Rights and Development said that the citizen (Hussein Lashab - 65 years old) died in the Houthi militia prisons in the Al-Malahim Directorate, northeast of Al-Bayda Governorate, a week after his kidnapping, as a result of being subjected to torture.
The center, which is a member of the Yemeni Network for Victims' Associations, considered the incident in a statement on Thursday as "a crime against humanity that contradicts all international laws and norms."
He stressed that "the incident is just a glaring example of the ongoing human rights violations in areas controlled by the militias, where human dignity is exposed to the most heinous forms of aggression and abuse."
He stressed that "torture is an unacceptable method under any circumstances, and those responsible must be held accountable," calling on the international community and human rights organizations to intervene urgently to uncover the facts of this crime and hold those involved accountable.
The center concluded its statement by emphasizing the importance of protecting the rights of all citizens without exception, continuing to combat torture, and exposing violations against civilians.
