Yemen Youth Net: Special
Five girls died after falling into a sewage pond in the coastal district of Dhubab, west of Taiz Governorate, southwest of Yemen.
A local source told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the Dhubab Directorate witnessed an unfortunate accident yesterday, Friday, during a wedding party, where 17 girls fell into one of the wells near the wedding site, which resulted in the death of five of them and the injury of two girls in serious condition.
He added that the injured were transferred to Dhubab Hospital, which was unable to provide the necessary health care due to the lack of oxygen and basic medicines, which led to a large number of young people and residents of Dhubab gathering in front of the hospital.
The source said that the residents closed the hospital and expelled the employees and the hospital director, demanding his departure in protest against what they described as mismanagement and corruption, noting that the hospital lacks the most basic medical supplies.
In another escalation, the protesters closed the road linking Al Mokha and Aden Governorate today, Saturday, demanding the improvement of health services in the region and the change of symbols of corruption in the directorate, as they described it.
The protesters expressed their solidarity with the families of the victims, calling on the concerned authorities to improve health conditions and provide the necessary care for the injured.
