Today, Wednesday, the tribes and youth of Al-Hamoum in Al-Deis Al-Sharqiya District in Hadramaut Governorate, east of the country, succeeded in pressuring the local authority and the Second Military Region to stop establishing a camp in the Ras Baghwa area.

A tribal source in Yathmoun camp told "Yemen Shabab Net" that the governor of Hadhramaut bin Madi sent a mediation committee, on Wednesday, to the Yathmoun area in Al-Deis Al-Sharqiya, and met with the representative of the "Yathmoun" sit-in that was held yesterday in the area.

The source explained that the committee went to the Ras Baghwa area to see the harm the establishment of the camp had on the people of the district and the fishermen.

He explained that it was agreed with the tribes to alleviate the harm caused to the citizens, and to implement their first demands to cancel the establishment of the camp, noting that the forces that were stationed yesterday in Yathmoun, withdrew from the area.

Yesterday, Tuesday, dozens of youth from the Hamoum tribes gathered in Al-Deis Al-Sharqiya, to the Yathmoun area. With the aim of crawling towards Ras Baghousha; To demand a halt to the establishment of the camp, after the expiration of the deadline specified for the local authority.

Simultaneously, military forces were sent from Mukalla to the area to prevent the crowds from passing, before another mediation intervention from the local authority intervened to consult with the crowds’ representative.

At the beginning of this month, the Al-Hamoum tribes and the people of the Eastern Deis gave the local authority in Hadramaut and the Second Military Region a three-day deadline, then extended it to ten days, to implement their demands, which were to stop the establishment of the camp in the Ras Baghwa area.

The tribes considered the site “the only park and outlet for the people of the region,” stressing the need to address the suffering of fishermen who are subjected to harassment and violations by Coast Guard forces in the region.
