Torrential rain in Wasab

Identical media sources said that torrential rains caused the death and disappearance of dozens of citizens, including women and children, in the Wasab Al-Safil District in Dhamar Governorate, south of the capital, Sana'a.

The sources confirmed that initial information indicates that the bodies of five people were recovered, while the search is underway for 17 missing persons in the "Qawir" area of Bani Musa, Al-Jarf village.

Sources reported that the floods caused the roads leading to the affected areas to be cut off, while residents are currently carrying out relief efforts and searching for the missing, despite the continued rains and the floods that have been flowing since 4:00 pm on Friday.

According to sources, the floods swept away a number of citizens' homes, cars and shops in the directorate.

This comes at a time when citizens reported that the heavy floods that hit the Wasab Directorate caused a water barrier to explode, which doubled the volume of the floods that swept away and damaged a number of homes and resulted in casualties.

It is noteworthy that this disaster comes two days after a similar disaster occurred in the Malhan District of Al Mahwit Governorate, where rain caused the death and disappearance of dozens, including women and children.
