The program "From the Other Side" presented by colleague Abdullah Dubla on the "Yemen Youth" satellite channel revealed today, Monday, that the Houthi militia referred its former prime minister "Abdul Aziz bin Habtoor" and a number of members of his government affiliated with the General People's Congress Party to trial on charges of corruption.
The program confirmed, quoting special sources in the capital, Sana'a, that the Houthi militia referred the former Prime Minister, "Bin Habtoor", along with other ministers, including the loyalist Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Hussein Hazeb, to trial on charges of corruption and embezzlement of funds.
The program revealed a document it had obtained, addressed by the head of the so-called Government of Change and Construction, Ahmed Al-Rahwi, to the so-called Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, which includes the immediate suspension of granting permits to establish private educational institutions, and referring the beneficiary of criminal facts by issuing licenses to the judiciary to take legal action against them.
According to the document, the Houthi militia has approved granting any new licenses to establish schools, universities, or private institutes in areas under its control, and held Bin Habtoor and former Minister Hussein Hazeb responsible, and referred them to the judiciary.
The sources indicated that the Houthi trial procedures also included former Minister of Industry Mohammed Sharaf Mutahhar and Rashid Abu Lahoum, all of whom are affiliated with the General People's Congress party loyal to them in Sana'a.
The sources stated that the charges were directed specifically at former ministers who worked with it from the General People's Congress Party, stressing that the militia thus reveals its treachery towards its allies who worked with it, as if it is presenting them as scapegoats to protect its corruption.
