A soldier in the patrol police and road security in Taiz governorate was killed on Tuesday, when an explosive device planted by the Houthi militia exploded near a military site.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Interior published on its website, "Corporal Wael Abdo Abbas Obaidi, who works in the patrol police and road security in Taiz Governorate, was martyred as a result of the explosion of an explosive device planted by the Houthi militias, while he was performing his national duty."
The statement explained that "the accident occurred while Corporal Wael was on a mission within the 22nd Mika Brigade."
The statement did not mention any additional details about the incident.
The Houthi militia planted mines and explosive devices in the areas it controlled, which led to the killing of thousands of civilians in Yemen, including women and children.
