Traffic accident in Hajjah

Six people were killed on Tuesday when a truck fell off a mountain slope in Hajjah Governorate, northwest of the country.

Media sources said that six people, including a woman and her child, were killed when a small truck they were on fell from a mountain slope into a deep abyss in the Sudan area between Sana'a and Hajjah.

According to sources, the truck overturned on the mountain bend, before falling to the bottom of the mountain, which led to the death of those on board.

The recent period has witnessed a growing increase in traffic and road accidents in Yemen, due to the collapse of roads and their lack of maintenance in the liberated areas and areas controlled by the Houthis.

Statistics from the Yemeni Ministry of Interior revealed at the end of last October that at least 10 people died as a result of traffic accidents every day in areas controlled by the internationally recognized government, during the third quarter of this year.

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior described these incidents as "a hidden war facing society."
