On Saturday evening, the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Hajjah Governorate launched a "distress call" to all official and humanitarian agencies to provide relief to hundreds of displaced families affected by floods in the liberated districts and areas northwest of the governorate.

Thunderstorms accompanying heavy rains across the country have killed 14 people in a number of districts in Hajjah Governorate (northwest Yemen).

A young man in his thirties died today, Sunday, from a thunderbolt in Hajjah Governorate, northwest of the country.

The Yemeni government announced, in a preliminary statistic, that more than 5,500 displaced families were affected in the directorates under its control in the governorates of Hodeidah and Hajjah (west of the country), due to heavy rains and the resulting floods.

The aid includes "urgent food and shelter supplies to help a thousand Yemeni families affected by the recent floods that hit a number of governorates."

Ministry of Planning: The dangerous situation resulting from the depression requires urgent and comprehensive intervention to confront the repercussions, alleviate the suffering of affected citizens, and provide the necessary alternatives.
