Traffic accident in Lahj
Two people were killed and others injured on Thursday in a horrific traffic accident that occurred in a town in Lahj Governorate, in the south of the country.
Local sources said that a horrific traffic accident occurred when a "chassis" car carrying beehives collided with a "passenger bus" on the Al-Khattabiyah line in the Tur Al-Baha Al-Sabiha Directorate, which resulted in at least two people being killed and a number of others injured.
According to sources, the rescue operation is still ongoing by citizens, in the absence of civil defense until the time of writing this news.
The recent period has witnessed a growing increase in traffic and road accidents, due to the Houthi siege of most of the main roads, especially around Taiz Governorate, and the collapse of roads and their lack of maintenance in the liberated areas and areas controlled by the Houthis.
Statistics from the Yemeni Ministry of Interior revealed on October 26, 2024 that at least 10 people are victims of traffic accidents every day in areas controlled by the internationally recognized government, during the third quarter of this year, describing this as a hidden war facing society.
