Abyan tribes in Aden demand the release of the kidnapped Ashal - Archive

The Jaadna tribes in Abyan Governorate announced, on Wednesday, that the international line in Abyan will be cut off to military vehicles and mechanisms belonging to the coalition and the Transitional Council, starting today, Thursday, until the fate of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal, who has been forcibly disappeared for five months, is revealed.

The Jaadna tribes explained in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by "Yemeni Youth Net", that they "tried by all peaceful means, for five months, to demand the release of the kidnapped Lieutenant Colonel "Ali Ashal Al-Jaadni", and we knocked on all the doors of the officials in Aden Governorate, and we received nothing but false promises."

The statement added: “The Director of Security of Abyan Governorate, Brigadier General Ali Nasser Al-Kazmi (Abu Mishaal), thankfully tried with us with everything he could, but he found nothing but disdain and disregard for Abyan and its men. We sent a message and a statement to the coalition (the UAE) at the conclusion of the tribal meeting in Zinjibar on 10/12/2024 AD to intervene and release Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, but we did not find any listening ears.”

Al-Jaadneh's statement said: "After all this, we have decided to cut off the international line that passes through our land, the Al-Hamra area, to all military vehicles and mechanisms belonging to the coalition and the Transitional Council."

The statement added: "We went to our brothers, the sheikhs and notables of the Al-Bakazem Ahwar family, and our brothers, the Maraqsha, and asked them, on the basis of the tribe, the Mujawrah, the marriage and the lineage, to stand with us and support us in cutting off the international coastal line that passes through their land. They responded to our request, thank you, and carried out the work of the sector in their land."

The Jaadna tribes warned the leadership of the Transitional Council and the Emirates against betting on their patience, stressing that their patience has run out. At the same time, they called on "the leaders and members of the military formations affiliated with the Transitional Council to stand with them, pressure their leadership to quickly release Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal, and the least they can do is avoid crossing our land to avoid strife and out of respect for ancestors and customs."

The Jaadna tribes welcomed their brothers in the tribes of Abyan and the south in general, who came to support them in their position, stressing that "positions are precedents and religion."
