IOM: 31 Yemeni families displaced during the past week

The International Organization for Migration announced the displacement of 31 families from several Yemeni governorates under the control of the terrorist Houthi militia, driven by security fears and threats and economic factors.

The organization said in its weekly report that its tracking matrix monitored the displacement of 31 Yemeni families during the period from October 27 to November 2.

She explained that the displacement cases originated from Hodeidah, with 22 families, 9 of whom settled internally, while 13 families moved to Marib, while 5 displacement cases originated from Ibb Governorate (central) and moved to Marib, and 4 displacement cases originated from Hajjah (northwest) and also settled in Marib.

The organization stated that security concerns and threats were the main reason behind 17 families leaving their original areas, representing 55% of the total displacement cases recorded last week, while economic factors related to the conflict forced 14 families to flee, representing 45%.

She pointed out that the total number of displaced persons throughout the country rose during the period from January 1 to November 2, 2024, to 3,060 families representing (18,360 individuals).
