Amidst global silence, medical scientists cry out in the face of the Israeli genocide in Gaza

Medical journals refused to publish the appeal.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Mandoka, who worked in Gaza hospitals between 2010 and 2019, confirmed that two medical journals refused to publish the urgent appeal.
She explained that one of the magazines "did not respond at all, and the other justified its refusal by saying that there was not enough ethical content."
“It seems that journal publishing is limited to reporting events only, and that criticizing medical organizations and calling for action is not acceptable,” Manduca said.
She pointed out that she and the scientific team she heads decided to publish the urgent appeal on social media.
Hospitals are targets for bombing
Explaining the details of Tel Aviv's targeting of the health care system in Gaza, Professor Manduca stated that the Israeli army targeted all 36 hospitals in the Strip.
The Israeli army also targeted several health care facilities and centers, including centers of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
"The attacks continue systematically. As soon as doctors are partially able to work again, they are bombed again," Mandoka said.
"Ambulances have been targeted and medical workers have been killed on a scale that cannot be compared to any other war" around the world, she added.
“In fact, if you prevent people from receiving treatment, whether they have chronic diseases or injuries, you make it difficult for the entire population to survive. You can easily do this by bombing hospitals and creating difficult conditions for access to medicines and medical supplies,” she added.
Mandoka called on major health organizations to "put pressure on the Israeli army to stop its attacks on the Gaza Strip and create a public opinion issue" in this regard.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 147,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
Israel continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
