Syria: Injuries and fires in Israeli shelling of sites in Homs and Hama

An Israeli attack targeted an industrial area in the central Syrian province of Homs early Thursday morning, injuring four people, starting a huge fire and causing material damage. Israel also bombed a Syrian site in the Hama countryside.
The official Syrian news agency, SANA, said that "an Israeli aggression targeted the industrial city of Hasya," located about 30 kilometers south of the city of Homs, noting that "initial information indicates material damage."
The agency quoted the director of the industrial city in Hasiya as saying that the Israeli airstrike targeted a car factory in addition to cars loaded with medical and relief supplies in the city, and led to a large fire in the place, as firefighting teams are working to extinguish it.
SANA also reported that Israeli shelling from northern Lebanon targeted a military point in the town of Maarin in the Hama countryside. Syrian media said that a fire broke out as a result of this shelling.
An explosion was heard in the city of Daraa, according to Syrian media.
This new Israeli airstrike comes after official Syrian media reported that an Israeli strike on Wednesday killed a policeman in southern Syria near the Golan Heights, in a raid that the Israeli military said killed a Hezbollah member inside Syria.
On Tuesday, 7 civilians were killed in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a residential building in the Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus, according to the Syrian Ministry of Defense.
Several Syrian regions, including Damascus, have been subjected to repeated Israeli raids in the past period, targeting sites belonging to the army and others that Tel Aviv says belong to Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Israel rarely confirms carrying out strikes, but has repeatedly countered what it describes as Iran's attempts to entrench its military presence in Syria.
