On Thursday, US Central Command (Centcom) announced the arrival of F-22 Raptor aircraft to the region as part of US reinforcements to confront the threats of Iran and groups supported by it.
Centcom said in a statement on the “X” platform: “US Air Force F-22 Raptor fighters arrived in our area of responsibility on August 8.”
The move came as part of the US forces' positioning movements in the region, and to deal with the threats posed by Iran and the groups it supports, according to the same statement.
At the same time, the Breaking Defense website quoted the commander of the US Fifth Fleet as saying that the military arsenal of the Houthi group in Yemen has become more powerful than it was a decade ago.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Vice Admiral George Wyckoff, Commander of Naval Forces Central Command, speaking during a virtual event, said that the Houthis are well armed and have strong, consistent supply lines to Iran, “and they are looking for a reason to use them.”
