Brazilian Vinicius Junior (24 years old), the winger of the Spanish giant Real Madrid, refused to leave his team and play for Al-Ahli Saudi Club for about one billion euros ($1.1 billion) over five years, according to the Spanish newspaper "Marca".

Reuters reported on Monday, citing a source close to the Real Madrid and Brazil striker, that the player is open to an offer of more than one billion euros from Saudi Arabia.

Officials from the Saudi Public Investment Fund have contacted Vinicius to inquire about his interest in moving to the Saudi Professional League with a five-year contract worth around €200 million per season, plus bonuses.

The package also includes a separate 10-year contract to become Saudi Arabia's ambassador ahead of the 2034 World Cup.

Despite his "happiness" in the Spanish capital, Vinicius and his representatives believe that such a tempting offer needs to be carefully studied, according to Reuters.

Another source close to the player said that Real Madrid has not shown any interest in negotiating his transfer.

For its part, Marca said that Real Madrid and Vinicius "rejected the biggest transfer deal in football history, and Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia is ready to do anything to sign the Brazilian striker."

Vinicius is one of the most prominent candidates to win the Golden Ball award for the 2023/2024 season.

The Brazilian signed his current contract with Real Madrid in late 2023, and will continue until the summer of 2027, with a salary estimated at around 11 million euros ($12 million) per season.

This number is very small compared to the numbers presented by Saudi Arabia.
