Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois announces his refusal to play under his country's coach

Real Madrid and Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has announced that he will not play for his country as long as it is coached by Italian-German coach Domenico Tedesco.
Courtois left the Belgium squad more than a year ago due to a disagreement over the captaincy with coach Tedesco, and two months later, he suffered a serious knee injury that kept him out of action until last May, when he returned to Real Madrid and won the Champions League with them, but did not play for Belgium in the last European Championship.
Courtois wrote in a statement published on his account on the "X" platform: "I would like to address the fans of Belgium and the fans of the national team. I feel love and pride to represent my country on the pitch, as well as each one of you who supports the team."
I want to address the Belgian fans and supporters of our national team.

I feel immense love and pride in representing my country on the pitch, as well as every one of you who supports the Red Devils. I feel privileged to have had the honor of wearing the national jersey. Not… pic.twitter.com/BD4YP09wxs
"I feel grateful that I had the honour of wearing the national team shirt. I never imagined in my dreams that I would be able to do it more than 100 times," the 32-year-old added.
He continued: "Unfortunately, after the events that took place with the coach and after much thought, I have decided not to return to the Belgian national team under his management. In this matter, I accept my share of responsibility."
"However, looking to the future, my lack of confidence in him (the coach) will not help maintain the necessary cordial atmosphere," added the goalkeeper, who has won 102 caps for Belgium since making his debut in 2011. "I have had discussions with the Belgian FA, who accept my position and the reasons that led me to this painful decision."
"I am sorry to have disappointed some fans, but I am convinced that this is the best course of action for Belgium, as it closes the debate and allows the team to focus on achieving its goals. Thank you for your support, love and understanding," he concluded.
