A woman dies in Yemen every two hours as a result of pregnancy or childbirth
The United Nations Population Fund revealed, on Wednesday, that a Yemeni woman dies every two hours during pregnancy or childbirth, as a result of a lack of access to reproductive health services.
The Fund said, in a post on the “X” platform: “Yemen suffers from high rates of preventable maternal mortality,” stressing that “a woman dies every two hours during pregnancy or childbirth.”
He pointed out that "out of every ten births, six births take place without the assistance of a qualified midwife."
He stressed that "about 5.5 million women suffer from limited or no access to reproductive health services."
