Yesterday evening, the Yemeni community in Malaysia held an awareness evening that discussed the paths of the political solution and the future of Yemen after the war.
The evening, which was held at the community headquarters, was titled "References for the Political Solution in Yemen," according to the community's media.
In the evening, Dr. Mutab Baziad, Deputy Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, stressed that the outcomes of the National Dialogue represent a practical answer to the question “What happens after the war in Yemen ends?” calling for increased awareness of the importance of the references of the political solution (the Gulf Initiative, the UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2216, in addition to the outcomes of the National Dialogue that led to the draft Yemeni constitution).
Bazayad touched on the importance of references as an integrated framework for achieving peace and stability in Yemen, adding that the outcomes of the national dialogue, in which various political and social components participated, represent the ideal solution for unifying all political and societal forces, as they were formulated with comprehensive consensus, and are considered one of the basic pillars for reaching a sustainable and comprehensive solution to the Yemeni crisis.
Dr. Baziad stressed the need to intensify meetings that support the national project and activate the role of the media in spreading awareness, calling for building political levers in every region to support the national project, saying: “With this project, hope continues.”
The evening was attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Salehi, Member of Parliament, Marwan Al-Mabrouk, Head of the Community and members of the Administrative Board, Abdul Rahman Al-Nour, Head of the Yemeni Students Union in Malaysia, in addition to a group of academics, researchers and community dignitaries.
The evening included discussions on how to enhance the culture of dialogue and political action in Yemeni circles, with a focus on the importance of achieving sustainable peace and unifying efforts to revive the national project.
The attendees also stressed the need to coordinate efforts between all components of Yemeni society in Malaysia to enhance political awareness and support international and local efforts that contribute to ending the conflict and achieving peace and stability in Yemen.
