The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, discussed peace efforts in Yemen with the Commander of the Joint Forces in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Lieutenant General Fahd Al-Salman.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense said in a statement on its account on the X platform, yesterday evening, that Al-Salman met with Grundberg in Riyadh, and reviewed with him "the efforts and initiatives presented by the Kingdom, with the aim of achieving security, stability and peace for brotherly Yemen."

She added that the meeting reviewed Saudi support and facilities for humanitarian operations and the development and reconstruction of Yemen.

She added that the meeting also discussed "the political efforts made by the Kingdom to support reaching a comprehensive solution to the Yemeni crisis."

On Monday, Grundberg met with senior Omani officials in Muscat, and discussed with them the necessary measures to address the economic crisis in Yemen, improve living conditions, and respond to regional developments, according to a statement from his office last night.

According to the statement, the discussions - which come as part of a new tour by the envoy in the region - explored ways to strengthen commitments towards a comprehensive Yemeni political process.
