The Yemeni community and students union in Malaysia concluded the national celebrations of the 62nd and 61st anniversaries of the Yemeni revolution, September 26 and October 14, on Sunday evening, with a grand celebration at APU University, attended by hundreds of members of the Yemeni community in Malaysia.

The ceremony included many segments, most notably a play entitled “From Washah to Radfan,” written by Dr. Faisal Ali and directed by Mohammed Adel, which embodied the chapters of the Yemeni revolution from 1948 to 1963, shedding light on the unity of the Yemeni people in their struggle against reactionism and colonialism.

The event also included various folk dances, a patriotic poem recited by poet Tariq Al-Sakri, in addition to the participation of the flowers in patriotic dances and songs.

In his speech during the ceremony, the Yemeni Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr. Adel Bahumid, praised the great efforts made by the youth of the Yemeni community, the Student Union and the preparation teams, expressing his appreciation to everyone who contributed to presenting a bright image of Yemen in this event.

He stressed that Yemenis abroad are proud of their homeland, identity, republic and revolution, despite the geographical distance, adding that the Yemeni revolution of September 26 and October 14 represent a covenant that must be fulfilled, and that celebrating it is not just a memory, but rather a call to continue achieving the goals of the revolution.

Dr. Bahumid pointed out that the Houthi priestly coup is what dragged Yemen into the current crises, stressing that continuing the revolution against tyranny and priesthood is the way to restore the homeland and build a better future, stressing the importance of unifying ranks to confront the dangers that threaten the country.

For his part, Eng. Marwan Al-Mabrouk, head of the Yemeni community in Malaysia, stressed in his speech that this celebration comes to renew the message of the Yemeni community abroad, saying: "Despite the distances, we are with you. We adhere to the goals of the revolution and share with you the holidays and glory, and we work together to restore the Yemeni state and preserve its political identity in the face of attempts at sectarian division and small projects."

In turn, Abdul Rahman Al-Nour, President of the Yemeni Students Union in Malaysia, pointed out that the Yemeni revolution is a source of pride and honor for all Yemenis, and urged students to draw inspiration from its values and strive to develop their educational skills in order to build the future of Yemen in accordance with the goals of the revolution.

At the end of the ceremony, the supporting entities were honored, including the Yemeni Students Union branch at APU , the Yemeni Media and Cultural Group, and the Middle East Foodstuffs Company, in appreciation of their great role in the success of this event.

The celebrations began on September 20, where many national events were held, including literary and cultural seminars and a torch lighting ceremony at the embassy during the past few days, under the official sponsorship of the Yemeni Embassy in Malaysia and a media figure from the Yemeni Media and Cultural Group.
